Study in Canada as an international student

The process of getting the study permit

  1. Choose a school, university or college in Canada
  2. Make an application ( make sure you apply six months in advance for a primary or secondary school and one year in advance for a post-secondary program at a university or college
  3. Get information about an application fee, tution fees, health insurance, cost of rent of  living in Canada
  4. Enrolled at a designated learning institution
  5. Get an acceptance letter after being  admitted by the school



Apply for a study permit

  1. Prepare required documents according to the office visa instructions
  2. Provide a Proof of financial support :bank statements for the past 4 months
  3. Valid travel document
  4. Prepare a good student plan regarding the  study in Canada
  5. Submit an application 




An international student   must  make progress toward  completing the study program.

A student  attending  a post secondary school in Canada,  can work 20 hours per week  while studying and  40 hours while  one is  in a school break.  


A spouse or common-law partner  of the international student with the  approved student permit can apply for an Open work Permit.

Post Graduation Work Permit

After completion his sudy program from Designated Learning Institution  an international student is allowed to apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit to gain Canadian Work Experience which helps eventually qualify him for Permanent residence.
